Art exchange
Written on May 8, 2012
It’s that time of year. The time when artists exchange mail art with 5th graders in Rama Hughes art class.
It’s such an excellent project. I wish more children could do something like this. I think it could possibly lend a comforting perspective of adulthood to children who feel unsure about the future & what it means to be grown up.
Somehow I never managed to post about my exchange last year:

In 2011, Leat made me a lovely postcard with a wonderfully well drawn ballerina! I sent her a ballerina paper doll in return.

This year I received a card featuring super cute characters by Ayelet. (Love that the cheese is on a plate!)
Time was short this year so I didn’t have time to make a paper doll but I hope Ayelet will like the little painting featuring some of my favorite things.
I can’t say enough good things about this project! It’s fun & inspiring and I love being able to participate.
