First painting of the new year.
The holiday rituals didn’t quite feel the same this year. Too many distractions maybe (like emergency car shopping)… or maybe this is just how it is every other year or so. It is merely coincidental that I am ready to re-do everything at this precise moment. I think.

Ah, I start back to work next week, drawings this week…..have you read the Flavia de Luce novels? You might like them and you should be the illustrator for them I think.
No I haven’t but it sounds like I should. I’ve been really excited about getting started on various projects but I’ve been so sick this week I haven’t been able to do anything. I hate to lose momentum. The celebratory New Year’s Cold!
