everything at once

Written on September 7, 2007

I can feel it… fall is sweeping in.
The atmosphere is changing, the light is changing…
it is apparent because I feel like myself most of all when fall comes.

It is the season of my birthday.

It is supposed to storm tonight (and bring cooler air I hope)
Our tree already broke a little during the last storm.
I hope that was the only weak spot.

I made sugar cookies because it is friday.
The clear sugar crystals look like glitter and the cookies taste like christmas in the best possible way.

I gave plenty away and everyone agrees that they were excellent.
It’s odd because the recipe came from the back of a flour package.
I suppose I never trust those to be good for some reason.
Obviously, I’ve learned a lesson today.

Paper doll sets should be arriving at doorsteps soon.
So I thought I’d remind people to see this post: http://pushedunder.com/woolandwater/?p=8
regarding the cut edges on dark parts of the doll and tips on assembly.

You might want to note the position of the head behind the bear mask (so that the mask fits well over the head and bow)

whether you tape or cut, be sure not to make it overly tight, definitely test it out before making it permanent.

Also, I thought I’d post my more informal display option…

The silver thread is wound around each of the shoulder brads on the back and held in place by the brads.
The thread is tied and held in place by a pearly button over tack.

Anyway, I certainly hope that everyone will enjoy the newest set.
It means so much to me to share these things that I love making.

hope your week/weekend is lovely. <3

Fall is definitely the best season. I can’t wait until it cools off enough for me to do some baking. “Using the oven to warm up the house” is the perfect excuse for eating nothing but cookies until spring.

Cate, fall is definitely my favorite season. I am so ready for cooler weather… I feel weary with all the heat.

    Jeska,
Cut them out! (or not) : ) I personally like the new set put together best but then I looked at it in its uncut form for a long time and I suppose seeing it assembled now seems so much more interesting after that.
    I can’t wait for cardigans.

Sarah, thank you so much! I think your work is absolutely wonderful.
